Under direct supervision, the Distribution Material Handler maintains the integrity of the organization's warehouses, receives, stores, picks, loads and distributes products and POS materials within the warehouse.

Requirements

  • Ability to accurately load and unload trailers of palletized and non-palletized product and POS material.
  • Ability to utilize manual and power material handling equipment.
  • Ability to sort and place products or POS materials on racks or shelves according to predetermined designated locations.
  • Ability to accurately assemble customer orders from stock and place orders on pallets, wrap pallets with stretch film and prepare for shipping.
  • Ability to mark/label incoming products with identifying information (Date Code, Product Description and Code, Case Count).
  • Ability to mark/label outgoing product with identifying information (Route #/BIN Location, Pallet Count).
  • Ability to verify amounts of product/POS materials received.
  • Ability to use technology (RF scanning and voice picking equipment) during local checkout process according to Company Operation Guidelines.
  • Ability to operate material handling equipment to transport stored items within the warehouse.
  • Ability to prepare and organize warehouse for daily cycle count inventory and shopping activities.
  • Ability to complete daily maintenance power equipment checklist and report defective equipment.
  • Ability to practice and adhere to appropriate safety, food safety and hygiene guidelines/procedures for safe housekeeping and personal protection.
  • Ability to keep work area clean and remove trash from work area floor.
  • Ability to store supplies in designated areas.
  • Ability to keep work area aisles/exits clear and free from obstructions.
  • Ability to follow instructions for safe lifting/carrying of various sizes, shapes, and weights; identify/report defective equipment.
  • Ability to report all job-related injuries/property damage to supervision.
  • Ability to support and participate in Continuous Improvement initiatives including 5S (sort, set, shine, standardize, and sustain).
