About The Position

This role is responsible for the overall management and performance of the Shipping and Bulk Fulfillment operation, ensuring customer orders are processed accurately, efficiently, and on time. The Distribution Manager will manage daily shipping and fulfillment activities, including order prioritization, workforce allocation, and workflow optimization to meet service and productivity goals. They will supervise, coach, develop, and evaluate team members, partnering with Human Resources on hiring, performance management, and employee development. The position requires ensuring adequate staffing and scheduling to support operational demands while maintaining budget expectations, monitoring KPIs, analyzing data, and implementing process improvements. Utilization of warehouse management systems, shipping systems, and automation technologies is key to driving efficiency and accuracy. The role also involves identifying and implementing continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, cost reduction, and operational effectiveness, while maintaining compliance with company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements. Coordination with other departments such as Inventory Control, Customer Service, Transportation, and Receiving is essential for seamless order fulfillment. The Distribution Manager will resolve operational issues, manage departmental expenses and labor costs within budget, and recommend improvements in equipment, technology, and processes. Regular reporting to senior management on operational performance is also required.

Requirements

A minimum of 3 year’s prior management experience in distribution or a related field.
Good communication skills.

Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or equivalent distribution experience.
Bilingual in English and Spanish.

Responsibilities

Responsible for the overall management and performance of the Shipping and Bulk Fulfillment operation, ensuring customer orders are processed accurately, efficiently, and on time.
Manage daily shipping and fulfillment activities, including order prioritization, workforce allocation, and workflow optimization to meet service and productivity goals.
Supervise, coach, develop, and evaluate Shipping and Bulk Fulfillment team members. Partner with Human Resources in hiring, performance management, corrective action, and employee development processes.
Ensure adequate staffing levels and scheduling to support operational demands while maintaining budget expectations.
Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), analyze operational data, and implement process improvements to enhance productivity, quality, accuracy, and customer satisfaction.
Utilize warehouse management systems, shipping systems, and automation technologies to drive operational efficiency and ensure accurate order processing.
Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, cost reduction, and operational effectiveness.
Maintain compliance with company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements within the Shipping and Bulk Fulfillment area.
Ensure inventory control and shipping accuracy through adherence to established procedures and quality standards.
Coordinate with Inventory Control, Customer Service, Transportation, Receiving, and other departments to ensure effective communication and seamless order fulfillment.
Resolve shipping, fulfillment, and operational issues in a timely manner to minimize service disruptions and maintain customer satisfaction.
Manage departmental expenses and labor costs within established budget guidelines.
Recommend and support improvements in equipment, technology, facility layout, and processes to improve workflow and operational performance.
Provide regular reporting to senior management regarding operational performance, productivity, quality metrics, and improvement initiatives.
