About The Position

The Distribution Manager is responsible for the branch’s route delivery, ensuring route delivery activities are operating efficiently. The manager is the liaison to the Warehouse and Merchandising teams, working to ensure timely and accurate deliveries with responsibility for training and development activities to ensure service levels meet customer and Atlantic Coca-Cola Bottling Company performance expectations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma/GED with at least 6 years of route/delivery experience.
  • Valid Class A CDL with air brakes is required.
  • No greater than 2 moving violations, and no OWIs in the last five years.
  • Excellent customer service communication skills in order to interact with customers.
  • Must provide professional contact and appearance with customers which upholds Atlantic Bottling’s brand image.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze and effectively solve on-site problems, while under potentially stressful situations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent teacher and motivator.
  • Excellent team-player.
  • Flexible with the ability to adapt to varying situations.
  • Consistent, regular attendance is an essential job function.
  • The employee may frequently lift and/or move items over 55 lbs. and will also push/pull approximately 150 lbs. of product using moving equipment.
  • Some manual finger, hand, and arm dexterity, and to potentially work around cramped and tight spaces will be needed.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • Some regional day travel is required with this role.
  • The role will frequently interact with customers.
  • This role is considered a safety sensitive position.
  • Employees are subject to pre-employment/post-offer drug and random drug testing.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain Atlantic Coca-Cola Bottling’s delivery standard procedures, and ensure drivers are following work orders, safety and DOT regulations, standard operating procedures (SOPs) and remain in compliance.
  • Act as the senior mentor and coach for the route delivery team, scheduling rides with delivery staff, visit customer locations, and provide on-going coaching and feedback.
  • Direct management responsibilities including, but not limited to, recruitment, selection, training, performance management, schedules, motivation, discipline, and personnel development.
  • Act as corporate liaison and ensure professional contact to meet customer and Atlantic Coca-Cola Bottling Company performance expectations, while positively reflecting the company and iconic Coca-Cola brand image.
  • Ensure effective communication between departments to effectively complete distribution activities such as delivery of product, filling of shelves, rotating stock, building displays, and receiving unsold product (credits).
  • Proactively develop and recommend short and long term planning to help develop efficiencies and cost-savings, and to improve customer service levels.
  • Other duties as required.
