About The Position

Carolina Handling is a total automated warehouse solutions provider specializing in turnkey solutions for customers in warehouses, distribution centers, manufacturers, and other industries. They implement automation equipment and technologies to help customers move material faster and more efficiently. Carolina Handling is also the largest certified Raymond dealer in the southeast for material handling equipment sales and service, under the Toyota umbrella of North America (TINA). The Distribution Intern program allows students to gain corporate world experience by assigning each intern a department-level project focused on improving a specific process within their department over a ten-week period. The program includes networking opportunities, roundtables, and business acumen training. Projects are scoped as tangible tasks or processes that can be reasonably completed within 8-10 weeks, with final project details provided on the first day of the internship.

Requirements

• Enjoys mapping out processes and turning them into clear, organized documentation.
• Analytical and detail-oriented.
• Strong stakeholder interview skills.
• Strong written communication skills.
• Flexible and comfortable working in both office and hands-on operational settings.

Responsibilities

• Support process improvement initiatives within Distribution and Logistics.
• Work on one of two potential projects: mapping and improving the R60 process, or mapping current logistics workflows and creating SOPs/SOWs to support the new routing software implementation.
• Document current and future-state processes.
• Support implementation efforts.
