About The Position

The Strategic Project Portfolio Construction Coordinator position at GPC is a critical role responsible for overseeing both overhead and underground utility construction. This role manages overhead and underground utility construction projects. Responsibilities include coordinating contract resources to ensure that the SPP Achieves Safety Excellence, budgetary needs, productivity, schedules, customer satisfaction and Reliability goals. The successful candidate will be responsible for circuit strategy, attending pre-construction meetings, quality control, and final walkdowns of assigned projects. To be effective in this position, the incumbent must work well with and communicate with Engineering, internal and external customers, Stakeholder Engagement, Forestry, Land Acquisition, Claims, etc. This job will require an alternate work schedule to accomplish the listed responsibilities. This person will have to communicate well and work closely with our Region Partners to maintain a reliable system during construction of SPP projects. The SPP Coordinator will also work closely with region leadership to support their storm restoration plans.

Requirements

• High School education or equivalent.
• Extensive Distribution engineering and/or construction experience required.
• Proficient in computer skills (Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel), Distview, ARMS, CSS, TCMS, and JETS preferred.
• Ability to analyze drawings, blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other project documentation.
• Seven years of Distribution Experience.
• Proven negotiation skills.
• Ability to effectively interact face-to-face with customers (Developers, Builders, Communication Companies).
• Ability to motivate and influence others to get work completed.
• Ability to manage multiple projects/tasks over a large territory.
• Ability to schedule and prioritize work.
• Ability to set clear expectations and deliver results within a deadline.
• Ability to adapt positively to change.
• Demonstrated support of management initiatives.
• Ability to resolve conflict using Southern Style.
• Effective written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to solve problems and remove barriers.
• Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
• Proven decision-making skills.
• Work schedule: Monday through Thursday, 4 x 10 workdays.
• Available for Storm Duty.
• Valid Driver’s License is required.
