About The Position

The Department Supervisor is a salaried leadership role responsible for the overall performance, operations, and people management of an assigned distribution center function during the 2nd Shift (2:00 PM - 10:30 PM). This leader owns day-to-day execution, ensuring accuracy, productivity, and a safe, positive work environment while driving results through hands-on coaching, clear communication, and operational discipline. The Supervisor is accountable for team performance, associate development, and maintaining consistent execution of operational priorities, while exercising independent judgment to manage workflow and people-related matters.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of leadership experience in distribution, warehouse, or similar environment.
  • Experience managing employee performance, including coaching and corrective action.
  • Proven ability to lead teams in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 and warehouse management systems (WMS preferred).
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand and walk for extended periods up to 6+ hours and operate in a warehouse environment.

Responsibilities

  • Be a TPS brand ambassador
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of Leads and associates to drive performance, engagement, and accountability.
  • Manage all aspects of employee performance, including coaching, corrective action, and development planning.
  • Train and onboard new associates, ensuring role clarity, capability, and adherence to safety expectations.
  • Establish clear expectations and hold associates accountable to productivity, quality, and safety standards.
  • Address workplace conflict directly and professionally, partnering with HR on escalated or non-negotiable matters.
  • Own daily department operations including workflow planning, prioritization, and execution.
  • Delegate work effectively to balance workload, meet operational goals, and support team development.
  • Monitor and manage departmental performance metrics, taking proactive action to address gaps and drive improvement.
  • Adjust labor, workflow, and priorities in real time to meet changing business demands.
  • Ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, and operational standards.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment and enforce all safety requirements.
  • Identify process improvement opportunities and support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Serve as the primary communication bridge between associates and department leadership.
  • Facilitate daily huddles to reinforce priorities, expectations, safety, and performance goals.
  • Support building operations, including opening/closing, incident response, and asset protection responsibilities.
