About The Position

The DC Supervisor - Inbound oversees the receiving and putaway processes to ensure timely, accurate, and safe handling of incoming vendor deliveries. This role directs warehouse associates in unloading, storing, and verifying shipments, while coordinating with inventory control and quality assurance teams to resolve discrepancies. The supervisor ensures proper inventory storage, equipment maintenance, and facility safety in compliance with company and regulatory standards. Additionally, they provide training, coaching, and daily safety leadership to support operational excellence and effective communication with internal stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2-year business/trade degree or the equivalent in work experience.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license to operate company vehicles.
  • Ability to read, write and speak in English required.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior supervisory experience with minimum 3 years of prior warehouse distribution experience preferred.
  • Good knowledge of electrical products or systems preferred.
  • Prior experience operating a forklift or other warehouse equipment is preferred.
  • Strong working knowledge of PC for Windows, Microsoft Office (Excel and Word), internet, email, and SAP software preferred.
  • Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS) and supply chain logistics preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provides leadership, feedback, coaching, and training to team members to improve performance, meet operational goals, and ensure adherence to safety policies and operational best practices.
  • Supervises the inbound team to ensure timely and accurate receiving, deconsolidation, and putaway of vendor deliveries.
  • Directs and supports associates in unloading and storing products using forklifts, pallet jacks, and other equipment.
  • Monitors and verifies the accuracy of incoming shipments, ensuring items match purchase orders and quality standards.
  • Coordinates with inventory control and quality assurance teams to ensure discrepancies or damages are promptly addressed.
  • Ensures that all inventory is properly stored according to layout plans and safety standards.
  • Arranges training and/or mentoring in Border States procedures, Warehouse Management System (WMS) transactions, and safety for the best operations practices.
  • Responsible for the security and maintenance of the building and grounds so that the property is neat and safe within Border States and government standards.
  • Responsible for the maintenance and safe operations of all warehouse equipment and vehicles in accordance with Border States and/or any government standards.
  • Leads daily safety meetings and updates and addresses concerns.
  • Communicates with internal customers on orders, inventory, and deliveries as needed.
  • May perform the duties of Distribution Center Associates, as needed.
  • Assists in cross-training associates assigned to other areas of the warehouse.
  • Coordinates with other supervisors to ensure smooth flow across all warehouse functions.
  • Helps identify and implement process improvements to increase operational efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Participates in cross-departmental meetings to address any operational challenges and discuss process enhancements.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor or designate.
