About The Position

This position is responsible for overseeing Second Shift dedicated delivery outbound operations in a fast-paced distribution environment with defined route departure schedules. The role requires close collaboration with team leaders to ensure effective manpower planning, coordinated workflow execution, and timely completion of work across all picking areas. This individual will also partner with our third-party dedicated delivery carrier responsible for loading and shipping outbound freight. Strong coordination with carrier leadership is essential to ensure all required cut-off times are met and routes depart on schedule.

Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or a related field with 2+ years of relevant experience OR 6 years of distribution supervisory experience in lieu of degree
  • 2-5 years of leadership experience in warehouse, distribution, manufacturing, or logistics operations
  • Ability to lead teams in a fast-paced, multi-shift environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to use tact and diplomacy to exchange information with employees
  • Demonstrated experience driving operational performance through safety, quality, productivity, cost, and delivery metrics required.
  • Experience applying Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, Root Cause Analysis, and problem-solving methodologies to improve operational results required.
  • Experience leading employee engagement initiatives, performance management activities, and employee/labor relations matters required.
  • Proven ability to build, motivate, and develop teams while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications required.

  • Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), SAP, or similar inventory systems

Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise daily outbound dedicated delivery operations, including picking, packing, bill of lading verification and route departure adherence.
  • Ensure picking accuracy through proper standard work procedures, audits, and reconciliation of discrepancies.
  • Coach, mentor, and develop hourly team members to achieve safety, quality, productivity, and attendance expectations.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as bill of lading hand over time, shipping accuracy, productivity, and compliance metrics.
  • Coordinate staffing, workload planning, training, and resource allocation to meet operational demands.
  • Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement through Lean and problem-solving methodologies.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to support customer requirements and maintain service level expectations.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, quality requirements, and regulatory standards.
  • Support warehouse and facility initiatives including audits, process improvements, and operational projects.
  • Supervises day-to-day work and participate in coaching and development of employees on the Technical and Business Support band in operations, manufacturing, and/or logistics
