About The Position

Join Our Team as a Distribution Center Specialist! This role plays a key part in supporting the storage, handling, and distribution of Home Market Foods' prepared food products. Working closely with Operations, Quality Assurance, Production, and Customer Service teams, you'll help ensure product quality, food safety, inventory accuracy, and on-time deliveries from our Norton Distribution Center. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced food manufacturing and distribution environment and enjoys coordinating the movement of products from production to customer.

Requirements

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office required
  • Ability to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods
  • Good vision and manual dexterity required
  • Company-provided PPE must be worn when entering production and food processing areas

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Experience in a food manufacturing, distribution, warehouse, or supply chain environment preferred
  • Familiarity with refrigerated or temperature-controlled products is a plus
  • Knowledge of food safety programs, quality systems, GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices), or HACCP principles is beneficial
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365) or other ERP systems preferred
  • Basic computer troubleshooting skills preferred
  • Bilingual Spanish preferred

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary communication link between the production facility and distribution center regarding inbound and outbound product shipments
  • Verify inbound refrigerated trailer temperatures and cooling unit settings to maintain cold-chain integrity and food safety requirements
  • Confirm outbound trailer temperatures meet Home Market Foods' food safety and product quality standards before shipment
  • Perform and document facility safety inspections to support a safe, compliant, and audit-ready operation
  • Organize pick sheets, bills of lading, and shipping documentation for efficient order fulfillment
  • Coordinate dock door assignments and communicate with inbound and outbound carriers
  • Support readiness for third-party audits, food safety inspections, and customer audits
  • Maintain documentation including pest control records, forklift preventive maintenance records, and rack safety inspections
  • Monitor and communicate short-dated inventory to Customer Service to help minimize food waste
  • Partner with Quality Assurance to manage test-and-hold inventory and product release processes
  • Maintain daily, weekly, and monthly distribution center KPI and operational reports
  • Verify staged customer orders for accuracy prior to shipment
  • Collaborate with Operations, Customer Service, Sales, Marketing, R&D, and QA teams to support new product launches and item setup in Microsoft Dynamics 365
  • Assist with sample order coordination for customers and internal stakeholders
  • Support daily shipment processing and inventory transactions
  • Perform other duties as assigned
