Position Summary The Distribution Center Safety Manager is responsible for creating and maintaining a safe work environment within the distribution center. This role partners with the DC Director and leadership team to reduce workplace injuries, ensure compliance with safety regulations, and promote a strong safety-first culture. The Safety Manager leads health, safety, and environmental (HSE) programs, drives continuous improvement initiatives, and serves as the site's safety expert.

Requirements

Minimum 5 years of safety leadership experience in a warehouse, distribution center, or similar environment.
Safety leadership and employee engagement.
Incident investigation and root cause analysis.
OSHA and environmental compliance knowledge.
Project management and continuous improvement.
Strong communication, coaching, and collaboration skills.

Nice To Haves

Bilingual (English/Spanish).
ASP or CSP certification.
CPR, AED, and First Aid certification.
DOT and driver safety experience.
Lean Six Sigma certification (Yellow Belt or higher).

Responsibilities

Promote a proactive safety culture and injury prevention programs.
Implement and oversee HSE policies, procedures, and training programs.
Conduct safety audits, hazard assessments, and workplace inspections.
Lead behavior-based safety initiatives and provide coaching to leaders and employees.
Facilitate Gemba walks, Kaizen events, and Safety Task Force meetings.
Manage forklift/powered industrial truck training and certification programs.
Monitor safety metrics (KPIs) and develop improvement plans.
Investigate incidents and injuries, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
Lead pre-shift stretching and warm-up programs.
Ensure compliance with OSHA and all applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
Serve as the primary contact for regulatory agencies and partner with Corporate HSE and Legal teams.
Lead safety and compliance projects from planning through completion.
Support site leadership with safety strategies and continuous improvement efforts.
