About The Position

The Distribution Center Operations Supervisor leads and manages warehouse activities within the distribution center. This includes oversight to safety, quality, engagement, light assembly, on time shipping, safety of goods coming through the warehouse, and overall performance to the companies aligned KPI’s. As an Operations Supervisor, you will have the leadership opportunity to coach, develop, motivate, and mentor an operational team. This person will be a key leader within the regional fulfillment team and will report up to the Distribution Center Operations Manager. This position will be responsible for managing and leading a team to execute the responsibilities as noted above. This position is located at our Freeport Distribution Center, Freeport, IL.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Excellent communication and people skills
  • Good writing/administrative skills, including computer skills (word processing, graphics, spreadsheet, Minitab, etc.).
  • Demonstrated proficiency in time and project management.
  • Team oriented with the ability to influence others.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Experience with Oracle, Axapta & Microsoft D365 system performing complex transactions a plus

Responsibilities

  • Leadership for all operations within the warehouse.
  • Effectively manage Warehouse Leads and associates.
  • Build team chemistry and develop associates for future roles in the business.
  • Support all safety programs and OSHA compliance to ensure a safe work environment for all associates.
  • Accountability for meeting Key Performance Indicators such as safety and dock to stock.
  • Responsible for managing daily, weekly, monthly metrics and executing on counter measures.
  • Build and execute productivity plans by reviewing work forecasts, determining productivity requirements, and partnering with other Area Supervisors to balance labor.
  • Develop performance goals and objectives to achieve customer expectations and ensure accuracy and quality.
  • Engage the Regional Operations Support Coordination and ICQA teams to meet internal KPI’s and customer satisfaction targets.
  • Promote continuous improvement culture and lead process improvement initiatives and lean tools.
  • Work with the management team to improve employee engagement by initiating and/or facilitating team building events that also support our community.
