Distribution Center Manager - Pittsburgh
About The Position
This is a leadership position responsible for meeting operational goals by ensuring product availability for consumers. The role involves leading and motivating a diverse team, managing all operational aspects of the Distribution Facility, planning and coordinating work, monitoring performance, and managing training and development. The manager oversees subordinate supervisors and non-supervisory employees, carrying out responsibilities in accordance with company policies and laws. This position is responsible for the successful implementation of all short and long-range goals for the Distribution Center, specifically in finance, operations, sales, and human resources.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of CRM systems, Company Reporting Software, Internet Software, Spreadsheet, Word Processing software and SAP.
- Valid Driver's License.
- Current Insurance.
Responsibilities

- Manage the Profit & Loss.
- Plan, budget, forecast, and control expenses.
- Maximize operations and profit growth while properly managing company assets.
- Hire, teach, coach, and retain high-quality personnel.
- Support employees by providing good working conditions, equitable pay programs, and ongoing career development.
- Conduct annual performance appraisals.
- Effectively communicate Company goals and objectives to Distribution Facility staff.
- Work in conjunction with Distribution Facility staff to establish goals and objectives.
- Maintain a high level of quality control at all levels within the Distribution Facility.
- Maintain positive customer and vendor relations.
- Recommend product selection and pricing levels for local markets.
- Keep the Company informed of local market and competitive conditions.
- Develop effective inter-department communications and working relationships within PrimeSource.
- Review bills of lading for incoming merchandise and customer orders to plan work activities.
- Establish operational procedures for verification of incoming and outgoing shipments, handling and disposition of merchandise, and keeping warehouse inventory.
- Coordinate activities of the distribution warehouse with sales, record control, and purchasing departments to ensure merchandise availability.
- Direct reclamation of damaged merchandise and other returns & credits.
- Potentially responsible and ultimately accountable for purchasing various product categories.
- Uphold and enforce company safety policies.
- Stay current and adhere to all Human Resources policies and courses.
- Stay current and adhere to all JSOX policies and initiatives.
- Travel to customers.
- Attend and contribute to sales meetings.
- Ensure work responsibilities are covered when absent.
- Arrive at meetings and appointments on time.
