About The Position

The Distribution Center Maintenance Technician performs maintenance and repairs on forklifts and other powered industrial equipment, conveyor systems, facility equipment, and other equipment throughout the facility. Candidates may bring specialized skills in one or more maintenance areas or on particular types of equipment. The position offers a four-day work week on one shift and is intended to support work-life balance and career growth, with opportunities for promotion from within.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent, or related work experience in lieu of the education requirement.
At least 12–18 months of maintenance technician experience.
Basic knowledge of electronic equipment and testing devices.
Basic knowledge of environmental regulations.
Good hand-eye coordination.
Ability to read and interpret written instructions and repair manuals.
Ability to follow complex instructions and use precision instruments.
May be asked to work occasionally at any time during a 24-hour day for emergency or planned downtime.
Provide own tools if required.

Nice To Haves

Post-secondary training or certification from a technical school or other higher education.
Prior experience in automotive repair.

Responsibilities

Perform all activities in the safest manner possible.
Observe, dismantle, repair, or remove defective parts and install replacement parts.
Adjust functional parts of devices and control instruments.
Use hand tools, levels, straight edges, rulers, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments as needed.
Troubleshoot failures by examining parts for imperfections.
Set up and operate lathes, drill presses, grinders, and other metalworking tools to make or repair parts as needed.
Initiate purchase orders for parts and machines as needed.
Perform welding tasks as necessary.
Know and comply with OSHA and EPA regulations.
