This role will be responsible for assisting the loader with Rail Car set-up (pre-load). This includes but is not limited to: Opening car doors, conducting initial clearing/cleaning of dunnage and various paraphernalia out of car, setting up car for loader (placing serviceable dunnage within and directly outside of the rail car, for loader).

Requirements

  • Must be located in Bradenton, FL, surrounding area, or willing to relocate for the duration of employment.
  • Willingness to be onsite at the manufacturing facility on a full-time basis.
  • Must be able to perform physical tasks for the duration of the shift, including standing, walking, bending, reaching, and lifting/moving items weighing 50 pounds or more.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship now or in the future.
  • Must have a valid Forklift driver license.
  • Job will require overtime, which could include more than 40 hours per week, 7 days a week and up to 12-hour days.

  • Ability to operate complex machinery in the achievement of Sanitation goals.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing.
  • Must be able to work with computer software such as Outlook, Word, Excel, Dashpad.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the loader with Rail Car set-up (pre-load), including opening car doors, clearing/cleaning dunnage and paraphernalia, and setting up the car with serviceable dunnage.
  • Assist with Rail Car Dunnage preparation, separation (serviceable from non-serviceable), organization, disposal, inventory checks, and staging.
  • Assist loaders with shrouding pallets.
  • Responsible for track and dock sanitation, including cleaning & sorting equipment, lumber, and rail bed.
  • Maintain all areas to 5S standards, including all work areas related to rail loading.
  • Set temperature for refer units.
  • Participate in total production manufacturing (TPM) to include AM, PM, FI, OCCI, EM and HSE pillar teams as required.
  • Participate in the continuous improvement process, including Why-Why & 7-step process meetings to eliminate losses or waste, including safety issues.
  • Assist in correcting equipment problems quickly and on time (flow to the work) above and beyond without having to be asked.
  • Learn and use multi-computer skills.
  • Other duties may be assigned as deemed necessary by supervisory, management and union representatives.

  • Promote a positive team environment.
  • Ensure reliable and safe operation of equipment through troubleshooting and working with maintenance to identify issues.
  • Forklift safety will be the highest priority. Unsafe behaviors on a forklift will not be tolerated.
  • Adhere to PPE requirements set forth by the department.
  • Ensure all safety rules, procedures, policies and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) are followed.
  • Stay up to date on all required peak performance safety training.
