About The Position

The Distribution Center Lead is responsible for training and directing team members to safely and efficiently unload, sort, and load cartons and pallets in a fast-paced environment. This role involves KPI-driven leadership, effective communication, operational oversight, workforce optimization, training and development, performance coaching, problem resolution, and safety leadership. The Lead will also oversee and support daily operations within an automated environment, including coordination with driverless forklifts (AGVs/AMRs) and automated offloading equipment, ensuring team members follow proper interaction protocols, maintain safe and efficient material flow, and address minor system issues or escalations to minimize downtime and support throughput goals.

Requirements

  • 2+ years warehousing experience
  • Previous Lead experience
  • Ability to lead others in a positive work environment.
  • Ability to overcome the inevitable problems and obstacles that surface to meet timelines.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in English - Must be able to read, write and communicate in English
  • Learns quickly and adapts to changing needs easily
  • Ability to operate material handling equipment.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds required
  • Ability to adopt our safety procedures and ensure safe work practices.

Responsibilities

  • Gather, analyze, and apply Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)—including Cost Per Carton, Productivity, and Downtime—to guide team performance, identify trends, and implement process improvements.
  • Ensure consistent and transparent communication across team members and management. Lead clear shift handovers and keep all stakeholders aligned on operational goals and progress.
  • Supervise and actively participate in the accurate and timely shipping, receiving, and sorting of product to meet daily throughput and completion targets.
  • Provide clear direction and assign tasks effectively to balance workloads and maximize productivity. Adjust labor deployment in real-time to meet changing demands.
  • Support the onboarding of new associates and ensure all team members receive ongoing training to enhance skills, ensure safety compliance, and promote professional growth.
  • Conduct performance evaluations, deliver constructive feedback, and coach team members to drive continuous improvement in productivity, quality, and safety.
  • Proactively identify and resolve operational or personnel issues using KPI data and root cause analysis to minimize disruptions and maintain workflow efficiency.
  • Champion a strong safety culture by monitoring incident rates, conducting safety walks, reinforcing safety protocols, and taking immediate action to address hazards.
