The lead driver is a key position in logistics and distribution operations within the warehouse, they supervise a team of drivers, assigning routes and tasks, and ensuring timely delivery while prioritizing safety and compliance. Requirements

  • 1-2 years related work experience
  • Clean driver’s license, comfortable driving oversized vehicles in winter conditions
  • Basic computer skills with the ability to learn
  • Strong time management and leadership skills
  • Independent decision making
  • Extensive problem solving skills
  • Ability to build relationships cross functionally
  • Knowledge of Microsoft systems and programs
  • At least 18 years of age

Responsibilities

  • Coordinating store deliveries daily, making sure everything is palletized, loaded and shipped.
  • Loading trucks in an efficient manner with the team, utilizing forklift operations
  • Keep all incoming and outgoing transfers organized in the drivers area, storing skids in racking for store flips and keeping on top of store requested POs.
  • Checking the drivers log each morning and assigning tasks for the day to the driving team. Creating notes and ETAs for requests not completed within 2 days.
  • Overseeing vehicle maintenance, completing daily walkthroughs and log books, liaising with fleet maintenance if any issues arise.
  • Providing training to new drivers and continually coaching the team to improve performance.
  • Interacting with store managers, addressing their inquiries or concerns with deliveries and pickups.
  • Handling MMS issues with shipping, cleaning up shipped transfers and solving no scan cartons, and other issues as they arise.
  • Maintaining accurate records of delivery/pick up logs, filling by date so records can be found if needed.
  • Archiving rental waivers in a timely manner to meet records management schedules seasonally.
  • Effectively communicating with warehouse management ensuring priorities are being met, all safety concerns reported and all supplies required are available.
  • Promoting a safety first culture among the driver team, ensuring all safety protocols are followed, adapting delivery schedules to weather conditions and unforeseen circumstances.
  • Working with the warehouse leads in keeping all skids in the warehouse organized, labeled and put away correctly.
  • Maintain recycle and garbage areas, in alignment with our environmental goals.
  • Other duties as assigned to meet warehouse deadlines and priorities; picking, cycle counting, receiving, data entry, logging.
  • Other duties as when needed to support resorts operations.
