About The Position

An Area Manager is a motivated, customer-focused position responsible for leading a team of hourly-workforce and maintaining Bob’s core values. In this role, you will leverage your expertise in safety, quality, and performance to exemplify those core values and foster a positive culture of growth and development for all employees. You will collaborate closely with other team members to encourage a diversified workforce, maintain constant open communication throughout the operation, and protect customer expectations through sustained operations.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a warehouse environment with at least 2 years lead or management experience.
  • Understanding of supply chain and distribution center operations.
  • Experience in using a warehouse management system (WMS) – preferably SAP, as well as Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel
  • Ability to communicate proactively and effectively including comprehending and communicating detailed instructions, reading and writing, and having knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures as required by the position.
  • Must be at least 18 years old to be considered for employment with Bob’s.

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus, given the workforce composition at several of Bob’s distribution centers.
  • Prior experience in a high-volume retail or furniture distribution environment.
  • Experience supporting peak-season operations with fluctuating volume and staffing.

  • Demonstrate proficiency in talent management by evaluating performance and completing employee reviews.
  • Collaborate with other team members or departments to develop plans and navigate barriers to achieve business objectives.
  • Utilize knowledge and expertise to define roles and priorities for your workforce.
  • Continuously monitor and optimize team performance for efficiency using key performance indicators.
