Distribution Associate
About The Position
This role involves picking, packing, and shipping customer orders, restocking shelves, and preparing shipping documents. The associate will also be responsible for packaging small parts, creating parts kits, and operating material handling and packaging equipment. Key functions include accurately picking and packing orders, performing daily cycle counts for inventory accuracy, using computer systems for shipping and inventory management, packaging parts, producing labels, maintaining production records, processing documents, and ensuring received goods match packing lists. The role also requires participating in stock replenishment, maintaining a clean work area, and moving materials up to 50 lbs using safe techniques and sometimes mechanical assistance.
Requirements
- High School diploma/GED or equivalent strongly preferred; equivalent combination of education and work history acceptable
- Prior experience in material picking and inventory control required
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide, and apply math skills to solve problems
- Attention to detail is mandatory
Responsibilities
- Pick, pack and ship customer orders
- Restock shelves
- Pack small parts into boxes and bags for stocking/shipping
- Prepare various shipping documents
- Move or expedite material to proper departments or place in temporary area
- Package individual parts and make various parts kits from multi sources
- Operate/use manual and/or powered material handling and packaging equipment
- Perform daily cycle counts to ensure required inventory levels and accuracy
- Accurately fill customer orders matching goods picked to customer’s order
- Operate UPS computer shipping system to ship and/or track packages
- Operate Carlisle’s “in house” computer system (ROI) to enter and report inventory changes and completed shipments
- Package parts in appropriate bag using the packing machines
- Produce labels and affix to accompanying bags/containers
- Maintain accurate production records
- Accurately complete and process all applicable/required Carlisle documents, etc., and match all received goods with packing lists
- Participate in replenishment cycle of stock levels
- Maintain safe, clean and orderly work area(s) and perform housekeeping duties
- Move materials of various sizes, weights and configurations (boxes, raw materials, etc.) in the required safety techniques – sometimes using mechanical assisting devices
- Perform other related responsibilities as needed and as assigned
