About The Position

General Fasteners Company is seeking a full-time Distribution Associate for their Portage, MI location. This role is responsible for receiving, picking, packing, and shipping products, as well as maintaining inventory accuracy and a safe, organized warehouse. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented and capable of working both independently and as part of a team.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
Experience with Microsoft Office: Outlook, Excel & Word
Valid driver's license is required
Strong attention to detail and accuracy while meeting deadlines
Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds regularly
Ability to follow instructions
Good communication and teamwork skills
Must be able to stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periods

Nice To Haves

Previous warehouse or distribution experience is a plus
Familiarity with inventory systems and handheld scanners is a plus
Forklift certification or willingness to obtain one is preferred
1-2 years of warehouse experience

Responsibilities

Receive and inspect incoming shipments for accuracy and damage
Pick, pack, and prepare orders for shipment following company standards
Load and unload delivery trucks using appropriate equipment such as forklifts or pallet jacks
Organize stock and maintain inventory accuracy through regular cycle counts
Operate warehouse equipment safely and efficiently
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment at all times
Adhere to all safety policies and procedures
Assist with other general warehouse duties as assigned
