About The Position

This individual in this role will provide work leadership and perform manual and clerical duties related to the shipment and receipt of materials, supplies, equipment and finished products. Duties include but are not limited to: Leads receipt of goods, verifying items against the record of shipment, and inspecting condition. Rejects damaged, excess or misdirected goods, routes material to inspection, stores or other destinations. Leads selection, verification and packing for shipment according to specifications, equipment characteristics, and transportation method. Checks goods against shipping documents and authorizations. Verifies identification and quality of product. Records received and shipped items according to established procedures. Routes materials, supplies and equipment to inspection or stock areas. Completes written and computerized documentation. Resolves inventory variances, tracking errors, and a wide variety of other issues.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • At least 5 years related experience.
  • Thorough knowledge of shipping and receiving procedures including handling exceptions.
  • Basic reading, writing and numerical ability.
  • Strong verbal communication skills.
  • Effectively coordinates team work activities.
  • Able to operate powered equipment such as forklift or hydraulic jack lift.
  • Able to lift up to 50 pounds.

Nice To Haves

  • May require forklift certification.
  • Valid driver’s license with good driving record may be required.
