About The Position

At Hach, a Veralto company, we ensure water quality for people around the world. This role provides leadership, direction, and hands-on involvement for the Distribution department. The Distribution Area Manager plans and executes daily activities to ensure internal and external customer demands are met, while also driving continuous improvement in safety, quality, delivery, inventory, and cost using Lean Manufacturing tools. This position is part of the Shipping/Receiving and Distribution team and will be onsite in Romeoville, IL.

Requirements

• 1 year or more of direct management experience.
• Ability to communicate effectively with both Sr. Leaders and Associates.
• Scheduling, planning, and project management skills and experience, as well as strong time management skills.
• Data and Fact-Based problem solving and reporting skills.
• Lean manufacturing experience (Kaizens, Kanban, root cause counter measures, etc.)
• Basic financial understanding.
• Experience with Inventory management.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English.

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

• Daily supervision of staff (approx. 30) to ensure internal and external customer demands are met.
• Leading teams in meeting safety, quality, delivery, inventory, and cost goals through the use of Lean Manufacturing tools.
• Tracking each team's achievement of Standard of Work and ensuring the team records all improvement opportunities.
• Responsible for creating and executing data-driver action plans to improve standard work and performance.
• Working with order management to evaluate customer orders versus available labor and materials.
• Developing a daily and weekly build/ship plan and meeting on-time delivery objectives.
• Creating and executing policy deployment action plans through all areas of responsibility by using Veralto Enterprise System tools, budget reports, and short and long-term company goals.
• Evaluating associates' performance, development plans and merit recommendations.
• Coaching, training and counseling associates to improve performance.
• Working closely with HR department to resolve issues resulting from unacceptable associate's behavior.
• Top-grading talent as required to ensure a strong team.
