About The Position

Purdys Chocolatier is looking for a Distribution and Logistics Supervisor to join their warehouse team in Vancouver, BC. This role reports to the Distribution and Logistics Manager and is responsible for overseeing the receipt, handling, and storage of raw materials and finished products. The supervisor will manage a team of warehouse associates, ensuring operations meet established standards for cost, quality, efficiency, and safety. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, supply chain or logistics, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience
  • 3-5 years of experience in a warehouse environment
  • Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop operational teams in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to make decisions under pressure and manage operational escalations effectively.
  • Continuous improvement mindset with experience driving process efficiencies and service improvements.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting retail, e-commerce, and multi-channel distribution environments
  • Experience using WMS and/or labor management system
  • Adaptable to third party technologies (RF scanners etc)

Responsibilities

  • Supervise confirmation of orders and shipment of all finished goods by truck.
  • Manage accuracy in loading and receiving; achieve dock schedule and manage inventory flow with shippers.
  • Manage 3PL to ensure all products and supplies are available during peak season.
  • Review Customer order issues from 3PL and support Customer Service Reps during peak.
  • Coach and lead team to conduct inventory audits to identify and resolve variances and ensure proper controls are in place.
  • Participate in logistics daily operations reviews; coach team members in problem solving and root cause analysis, fostering continuous improvement.
  • Ensure proper use of Extended Warehouse Management to maximize storage and labour efficiencies.
  • Maintain safety, quality and labour standards within warehouse operations.
  • Responsible for daily labour planning and support with workforce planning including requesting labour from agency partners and the internal talent acquisition team during peak seasons.
  • Maintain a safe work environment in partnership with Health & Safety and working with the Quality Assurance team to ensure GMP and SQF compliance throughout the facility.
  • Oversee the departmental work tasks to ensure target metrics and service level agreements are met (pick, pack, ship, receive, transfer, etc).
  • Support with the creation and implementation of departmental operational and strategic plans to drive continuous improvement.
  • Support Retail Operations on all matters related to product distribution, replenishment, and ice cream deliveries to ensure service continuity and customer satisfaction.
  • Develop and maintain annual shipment and distribution plans to support Retail Operations forecasting, capacity planning, and seasonal execution.
  • Establish and optimize warehouse operations to ensure readiness for peak periods, including staffing, space utilization, inventory flow, and service level achievement.
  • Monitor shipment performance and delivery KPIs, identify risks, and implement corrective actions to improve operational efficiency.
  • Manage seasonal and promotional fulfillment requirements to support retail demand fluctuations and business growth.
