The Distribution and Gas Planning Engineer role involves developing and supporting integrated strategic plans for gas and electric distribution systems. This includes identifying collaboration opportunities, evaluating future scenarios and innovative solutions, and aligning resources, forecasts, and departmental priorities. The position requires partnering across teams to incorporate regulatory requirements, internal strategic direction, cost-benefit considerations, and system constraints into cohesive planning efforts. Strategic plans will integrate traditional resources with non-traditional resources such as demand response, non-wires alternatives, non-pipes alternatives, virtual power plants, energy efficiency, beneficial electrification, energy storage, and managed charging. The role also involves communicating plans, recommendations, and process documentation to internal and external stakeholders to support informed decision-making and continuous improvement. This position will work across both the gas and electric systems. An ideal candidate will have expertise in electric system planning with a working knowledge and ability to develop expertise on the gas side and with non-traditional solutions. The job summary and responsibilities reflect the staff engineer level role, with the successfully chosen candidate being placed at a level commensurate with their skills and experience.
