About The Position

Performs a variety of material distribution functions that may include processing incoming/outgoing materials, picking and filling orders, storing material in the proper location, communicating efficiently with different departments, inventory counting, and controlling inventory operational levels for the MHC inventory in a cost-effective and efficient manner.

Requirements

• Familiar with the use of ERP systems (i.e. SAP) and databases, procedures and practices.
• Six (6) months experience in distribution of medical/surgical items in a health care environment.
• Experience in maintaining computerized warehouse/distribution centre preferably in a health care environment.
• Grade 12.
• Knowledge of the English language consistent with the demands of the position.
• Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) training requirements for this position shall be in accordance with the Employer policy.
• Must be computer literate (Microsoft Windows, Outlook, Excel and Word) and able to prove same.
• Works within MHC’s core values, philosophy, vision, CQI goals, policies and procedures.
• Ability to function as an effective member of an interdisciplinary team, including collaboration, team work and good communication skills.
• Assumes responsibility for ongoing education and participates in professional activities for personal and professional growth.
• Regularly lift and/or move objects up to 20 kg utilizing knowledge and applicable body mechanics.
• Constant standing, walking, bending, lifting, pushing and pulling.
• Occasionally required to sit, climb or balance.

Nice To Haves

• Familiarity with modern warehousing practices and method preferred.
• Medical Terminology preferred.
