The New York Independent System Operator (NYISO) manages the efficient flow of electricity on over 11,000 circuit-miles of high-voltage transmission lines and dispatches power from hundreds of generating units across the state. The NYISO applies cutting-edge technology to operate a reliable electricity system, manage competitive markets for wholesale electricity, and plan for the state's energy future. The Market Operations department is seeking a full-time Distributed Resources Operations Analyst to join the Distributed Resources Operations (DRO) team. This role involves carrying out NYISO tariff responsibilities through policies and procedures to ensure the seamless participation of demand response and distributed energy resources (DER) in the NYISO capacity, energy, and ancillary services markets. Responsibilities include conducting processes for the Special Case Resource (SCR) program, Emergency Demand Response Program (EDRP), Behind the Meter: Net Generation (BTM:NG) model, and the DER participation model. The analyst will ensure software requirements support tariff-defined market rules, mentor team members, and represent the team and NYISO at internal and external meetings as a subject matter expert. Support will be provided to Energy Market Operations, ICAP Market Operations, and Grid Operations for integrating BTM:NG, demand response, and DER programs into NYISO's markets. The position requires creating technical procedures, analyzing data, and presenting findings to various audiences. Excellent teamwork, interpersonal, and communication skills are essential. The position will be filled at a level commensurate with the candidate's experience.
