Position Summary: United We Dream is seeking a passionate, creative, and self-motivated Distributive Organizer to help grow and activate our national member base through digital organizing tactics and distributed tools. You’ll play a key role in building strong online communities, recruiting and mobilizing youth and allies into campaigns, training sessions, and organizing programs that support immigrant justice and systemic change for the purpose of exponentially growing the number of young people organizing in their communities. You will be responsible for participating in and leading the recruitment and mobilization of your members to national in person/ digital training and organizing spaces. As a Distributive Organizer, you will help bring UWD’s organizing spirit into the digital space, engaging members online, supporting leadership development, and facilitating opportunities for members to take meaningful action in their communities. You'll serve as a vital connector between online engagement and grassroots action, helping leaders transform into lifelong movement leaders . This role will sit in the Membership and Campaigns Department This position is perfect for organizers with experience utilizing online tools and distributed tactics to foster a community-based, volunteer-driven organization to support national outreach. Although not required, a major plus if you are multilingual and/or have led peer-to-peer (P2P) text banks or virtual phone banks.

Requirements

Must demonstrate exceptional adaptability, as responsibilities within this role are subject to evolution and program objectives may shift. This requires a proactive approach to learning new skills and embracing unforeseen challenges to ensure continuous contribution and success.
This role requires traveling up to or more than 20% per year.
This role requires the coordination of some in-person events, for which you will be expected to perform member-related duties, the logistical planning and execution, which may involve lifting up to 30lbs, and transporting materials and escorting/transporting members.
2-3 campaign cycles in either field, distributed, or digital positions on political campaigns.
Familiarity with Slack, Zoom (or equivalent), Google Drive.
Experience with platforms like Action Network, Mobilize, ActBlue, GetThru, or Hustle
Exceptional writing, copyediting, and proofreading skills.
Strong writer and communicator ready to learn how to translate the needs of our community into action.

Responsibilities

Own the execution of recruitment, retention, and training tactics to meet quarterly and yearly distributed goals and ensure the exponential growth of membership in key strategic geographic areas.
Recruit, retain, and train remote distributed members to ensure that the distributed program builds a committed network of volunteers across the country in key strategic geographic areas.
Build deep relationships with youth members/leaders by conducting a minimum of 10 weekly 1:1s, focused on mentorship, political development, and identifying emerging leaders across our digital networks.
Implement the digital membership ladder that reflects the Distributed Organizing program membership.
Co-create recruitment tactics alongside the Deputy Director of Digital Organizing to meet quarterly and yearly recruitment goals for the Distributed Organizing program.
Support leadership development by identifying, mentoring, and supporting grassroots leaders to take ownership of campaign efforts and help grow the movement from within.
Perform other duties as assigned to support member recruitment, retention, and leadership development.
Identify digital organizing opportunities and campaigns that keep UWD members engaged on digital organizing platforms.
Plan and manage logistics, including accessibility for distro meetings and events.
Develop safety and risk management plans for all distro in-person events, ensuring accessibility and inclusion.
Coordinate the distribution of materials, supplies, and digital and organizing tools to members and chapters as needed.
Facilitate trainings, meetings, community calls, and other gatherings as needed to meet distributed program goals.
Provide back-end support for digital and in-person member-facing spaces, such as training sessions, community gatherings, and national calls.
Coordinate and implement distributed organizing tactics that align with campaign goals and community needs, managing timelines, digital tools, and communications to ensure smooth execution of member-led actions.
Build and maintain strong internal collaboration with the on-the-ground organizers, as well as the training team, to ensure distributed efforts are aligned, resourced, and grounded in broader recruitment, campaign, and advocacy strategy.
Grow and support a thriving distributed community by cultivating inclusive, values-based spaces (such as Slack or other platforms), and ensuring members feel connected, heard, and empowered to lead.
Develop organizing materials (e.g., toolkits, scripts, training guides, presentations, text scripts, phone bank scripts, emails, text outreach, Slack outreach, registration pages, and other content) that build the skills and confidence of leaders to take effective, independent action.
Run and support digital outreach campaigns, including phone banks, text banks, and virtual events that mobilize supporters, expand the base, and deepen member engagement, including by drafting materials, pulling lists, and providing technical support.
Listen to and elevate community feedback, regularly gathering input from leaders to assess what’s resonating, identify organizing opportunities, and ensure tactics reflect the experiences and needs of the people involved.
Be proactive in gathering insights from members frequently as part of your organizing, including, but not limited to: What are members eager to learn about? What campaigns are resonating? How are the program activities resonating with them? How can we grow the participation of our membership online? How can we make our online spaces more accessible and fun for them?
Gather and Report Back data collection on the progress of Distributed Organizing activities executed by volunteers, including but not limited to attendance reports, progress on texting/phone banking campaigns, qualitative data from virtual and in-person events, monthly organizational metrics, etc.
