About The Position

This is a professional position managing technical staff across two facilities, Northeast Florida State Hospital and North Florida Evaluation and Treatment Center, and is responsible for supporting and deploying software and hardware equipment required by end users. The employee must maintain productivity under tight timeframes, balance multiple and competing priorities and maintain goal-directed behavior and performance under stressful conditions. The employee must interact courteously with other program managers and staff. Employee must have the motivational and leadership skills to build outcome-oriented teams. Employee must be highly organized, self-motivated and able to work within agency defined parameters.

Requirements

  • Experience supervising staff
  • Experience managing asset inventory
  • Project management and delivery experience
  • Experience managing a data center environment
  • Experience managing mobile device fleet
  • Experience with customer call documentation and reporting
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Possess operational private vehicle for use in the performance of daily work activities
  • Willing and able to work outside normal shift/business hours
  • Knowledge of latest Windows Operating System for server and desktop users.
  • Knowledge of complex problem-solving techniques.
  • Knowledge of IT network infrastructure including wired and wireless.
  • Skill in use of computers and Microsoft office applications.
  • Ability to manage projects and communicate effectively at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to plan capital expenditures and complex purchases.
  • Ability to process information logically and solve problems.
  • Ability to supervise and mentor staff for peak performance.
  • Ability to plan, organize and complete regional assignments independently.

Nice To Haves

  • A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a major in one of the computer sciences or management information systems.
  • Current or previous IT Supervisor for State of FL Government Agency
  • Experience working at DCF, or other State of Florida Governmental agency

Responsibilities

  • Communicating with, motivating, training, and evaluating employees.
  • Planning and directing employees' work.
  • Hiring, transferring, suspending, laying off, recalling, promoting, or disciplining subordinate employees or effectively recommending such actions.
  • Ensuring personal computing devices are maintained with up-to-date software and compliant with security protocols.
  • Improving overall quality of service by promoting the most efficient processes to achieve production operating objectives while reducing costs of service.
  • Reporting operational achievements and progress to Senior IT Management, including statistical analysis and action plans as required.
  • Ensuring continuous improvement in terms of efficiency of support processes, customer satisfaction, and the application of tools for monitoring, management, and optimization.
  • Analyzing, reviewing, and identifying the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems and recommending changes.
  • Determining how a system should work and how changes in conditions, operations, and the environment will affect outcomes.
  • Identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
  • Monitoring IT expenditures and considering the relative costs and benefits of potential use and recommending the most efficient service.
  • Performing other duties as required.
