HPE is seeking a Distinguished Technologist to be a strategic member of the HPE Teir 1 Industry Vertical Team, providing broad technical thought leadership around the HPE portfolio, providing innovative and strategic ideas to the account team and customer, leveraging your knowledge of the Service Provider and High Tech Industries and the common solution stacks used by customers in this vertical to address customer IT and business needs. As the trusted advisor to the account team and the customer, you will be the key influencer in decisions regarding strategy and investments made on the account. Through your experience and expertise, you will help the customer meet their business and IT goals while helping HPE expand their relationship with the customer and presence on the account. The optimal candidate must be able to create immediate and long term relationships with both the IT Executives and business customers, at different levels of the organization. The thought leadership that you provide on the account will be backed by the sustained relationships that you establish within the different business units, research and development, with key business partners and the extended team members within the HPE organization. Your early and proactive engagement with the customer and the account team will ensure HPE is co-defining and co-creating solutions to the customer’s needs, in advance of the competition. Your industry and technical expertise will ensure the right solution for the customer. By providing sound expertise and consultation to the account team and the customer, you will become the trusted advisor. Your recommendations will be backed by qualified technologies, theories, or methods / techniques. Your interpersonal and project management skills will help transform the customer's environment in the short, mid, and long term. As an integral part of the Tier 1 Industry Vertical Team, you will provide mentoring and guidance to the specialty sales, presales and enterprise architect team members.

Requirements

  • Four year undergraduate or Graduate degree from an accredited university
  • 15+ years of practical work experience in IT; Technology and Solutions creation and selling.
  • Global IT experience preferred with GSI Consulting experience a plus.
  • Demonstrated results over an extended period.
  • Expert domain knowledge across the HPE enterprise portfolio.
  • Solid Teir One Service Provider industry expertise of at least 4 years.
  • Proven results in delivering innovative solutions to address business and IT challenges.
  • Can effectively position HPE solutions.
  • Expert knowledge of emerging industry trends.
  • Establish and maintain credibility with HPE's business units and account teams.
  • Lead the development of innovative principles and ideas.
  • Effectively collaborate with extended team members, partners and customers.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain awareness of key manufacturing and services industry solutions and trends.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with key ISVs and integrators.
  • Maintain awareness of industry trends and broader aspects of the vertical market the customer participates in to provide forward-thinking insights and suggestions.
  • Be the trusted advisor to the customer and the account team.
  • Must be capable of architecting an end-to-end solution and have a broad understanding of the inner workings of service provider data centers.
  • Maintain awareness of industry trends and broader aspects of the vertical market the customer participates in to provide forward-thinking insights and suggestions.
  • Review trends, processes, and technologies etc. that become available then translate into how they can be leveraged to address customer issues or goals.
  • Document and share ideas across the account, complying with firewalled or NDA requirements.
  • Develop thought leadership presentations/white papers to be distributed across North America.
  • Share findings with broader HPE and the Office of the CTO (accounts, industry and BU's) ensuring an understanding of the realities of the marketplace and the account.
  • Ensure that expectations are correctly set/ managed and HPE can deliver what has been promised.
  • Identify, pursue and win new sales opportunities to expand HPE's footprint and revenue within the account.
  • Must be able to successfully operate within a highly matrixed and complex technical and business environment with the capability to identify, qualify and pursue cross HPE business unit opportunities.
  • Must be capable of engaging at multiple levels of the customer’s organization and within HPE.
  • Must be capable of managing multiple engagements and projects across the account at the same time.
