Distinguished Engineers are expected to lead through technical contribution. You will operate as a trusted advisor for our key technologies, platforms and capability domains, creating clear and concise communications, code samples, blog posts and other material to share knowledge both inside and outside the organization. You will specialize in a particular subject area, but your input and impact will be sought and expected throughout the organization. In this role, you will work with our Client Platforms team to define and drive the technical vision for Capital One's web platform ecosystem — including EASE Web (our authenticated servicing platform), The Site (the unauthenticated marketing and acquisition platform powering capitalone.com), and Gravity Web (our design system). You will lead the architecture and standards for AI-native web delivery, guide the technical strategy for large-scale platform migrations, and establish engineering practices that elevate developer experience across hundreds of contributing engineers enterprise-wide. Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree
• At least 7 years of experience in general software engineering and solution architecture
• At least 7 years of experience Enterprise architecture and design patterns
• At least 7 years of experience Enterprise Software specializations mobile technology and frameworks (iOS, Android)

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science or a related field
• 10+ years of experience in Mobile technology and frameworks (iOS, Android)
• 10+ years of professional experience coding in commonly used languages like Java, Python, Go, JavaScript/TypeScript, Swift, etc.
• 8+ years of professional experience in the full lifecycle of system development, from conception through architecture, implementation, testing, deployment and production support
• 3+ years of experience with public or private cloud technologies
• 8+ years of experience with Networking (BGP, Wi-Fi, SD-WAN, Cloud Networking and Data Center Networking)
• Experience leveraging interactive AI tooling to accelerate productivity, utilizing capabilities beyond basic code completion

• Define and drive the technical vision for Capital One’s web platform domain, spanning authenticated servicing, marketing/acquisition, and design system capabilities
• Lead architectural decisions for large-scale platform integrations and migrations, ensuring long-term platform health while meeting delivery commitments
• Establish AI-native development standards and practices for web platforms, including agentic tooling, machine-consumable architecture, and AI-assisted delivery workflows
• Drive measurable improvement in developer experience and platform NPS across enterprise inner source contributors
• Partner with product, design, and engineering leadership to align technical strategy with business priorities across lines of business
