About The Position

TEKsystems has an exciting opportunity for a Disposition Technician with a client in Chaska, MN. This role is ideal for individuals seeking an entry point into the IT field. While top skills are preferred, the client is open to candidates with an IT education or experience with personal IT projects, and is willing to consider all levels of experience. This position offers a chance to learn more about IT.

Requirements

  • High School diploma required.
  • Minimum 1 to 2 years related experience.
  • Physically able to lift PCs, servers, peripherals, and network equipment (up to 75 lbs.).
  • Basic PC troubleshooting skills and knowledge of various Microsoft operating systems.
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite tools.
  • Ability to communicate effectively across multiple departments.
  • Ability to accurately track, troubleshoot, and problem-solve.
  • Enthusiastic with exceptional organizational skills and ability to multi-task.
  • Accuracy in regard to data entry and tracking of inventory equipment.
  • Ability to manage one's own time effectively (self-starter).

Nice To Haves

  • Two-year college or technical degree or equivalent related work experience preferred.
  • 6-12 months experience in IT.
  • Associates degree in IT.
  • Exposure to LAN/WAN.
  • Prior experience or familiarity with ERP software applications.
  • Any related certifications a plus.
  • Experience related to IT deployment initiatives, remodel/construction, physical layer, or other related field a plus.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work on their own.

Responsibilities

  • Taking returned equipment from the field and preparing it for disposition (inventory, disposal, shipping, etc.) based on customer/project instructions.
  • Entering data for status and reporting on equipment inventory.
  • Cleaning and restoring equipment for potential redeployment.
  • Preparing equipment for recycling or proper disposal.
  • Performing other activities as directed by the customer.
  • Working closely with Project Management, Configuration, and Warehouse Teams to meet project goals.
  • Unpacking, cleaning/restoring, recycling, or properly disposing of customer equipment according to detailed specifications.
  • Boxing and labeling equipment as per customer requests.
  • Completing customer inventory check-off lists to ensure 100% accuracy of returned devices and shipments.
  • Tracking and recording inventory returned for decommissioning.
  • Assisting with data management related to disposition status, schedules, and project deliverables.
  • Assisting with the daily maintenance, clean-up, and organization of the Disposition Center.
  • Assisting the Configuration Team when disposition activities are completed.
  • Communicating with Project, Configuration, and Warehouse teams to understand and fulfill customer requests and provide status updates.
  • Establishing and maintaining positive working relationships with others.
