The Dispatcher is responsible for ensuring that drivers report to their scheduled work shifts on time, notifying customers of service delays and interruptions, answering customer calls, arranging coverage for call-offs, ensuring operators depart on time, providing written documentation of incidents, communicating clearly with others, providing clients with information on location and ETA, making cost-effective and operationally efficient decisions regarding trip and driver assignments, monitoring the Transit Radio System (TRS) for radio activities, monitoring the AVL screen to prevent late routes and optimize resource utilization, maintaining the Dispatch Communication log, completing documentation, and performing various administrative duties such as answering calls and filing. This role operates in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment and requires the ability to work all schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays, within a union environment.
