About The Position

IES Residential is seeking a Dispatcher to join our team in San Antonio, Texas. Previous experience in dispatching is beneficial. We are looking for a highly organized, customer-focused professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can effectively coordinate technicians and service schedules.

Requirements

  • Previous dispatching, scheduling, or customer service experience preferred.
  • HVAC, plumbing, construction, or service industry experience is a plus.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Proficiency with computers, dispatch software, and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions under pressure.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer in a fast-paced office environment.
  • Frequent use of phones, headsets, keyboards, and multiple computer monitors.
  • Ability to effectively multitask, prioritize responsibilities, and adapt to changing schedules and service demands.
  • Frequent communication and interaction with customers, technicians, and office staff.
  • Ability to occasionally stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 15 pounds.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally in person and over the phone.
  • May be required to work extended hours, evenings, weekends, or during peak seasonal demand and emergency situations.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize phone and computer systems to dispatch technicians or field units to appropriate locations.
  • Monitor routes and technician status, coordinating and prioritizing schedules effectively.
  • Provide technicians with job details, traffic updates, obstacles, and customer-specific requirements.
  • Enter data accurately into company systems and maintain logs and records of calls, activities, and pertinent information.
  • Prioritize service calls based on urgency and importance.
  • Communicate regularly with customers regarding appointment updates and service status.
  • Collaborate effectively with office personnel and field teams.
  • Contribute as a team player in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
  • Maintain professionalism and excellent customer service at all times.
  • Perform additional administrative and operational support tasks as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
