About The Position

The Dispatcher will perform dispatch duties, including taking and processing load orders, planning, organizing, and scheduling load/delivery times, calling carriers, and preparing BOLs for loading/unloading. This role involves timely communication with the Transportation Manager and other department managers regarding shipping/scheduling issues, and advising customers and the Marketing Department of customer service/scheduling updates. The Dispatcher will manage all vehicle repairs and maintenance with outside vendors, ensuring compliance with DOT and Jebro requirements. Assistance with 24-hour phone coverage, including being on-call during weekdays and weekends, is also a responsibility. This role includes maintaining DOT-required records and files, such as equipment registrations and driver qualification files, and notifying drivers of expiring medical cards. The Dispatcher will also assist in maintaining departmental and company records, performing clerical tasks like managing driver logs, inspection reports, and fuel usage. Additional duties may include various transportation department functions, such as picking up or delivering drivers to repair facilities or acquiring parts for company vehicles. A strong emphasis is placed on working safely and preventing unsafe actions, processes, and behaviors. Other duties as assigned.
