About The Position

Americrane is seeking an experienced and highly organized Dispatcher to coordinate daily crane operations, equipment scheduling, and driver/operator assignments. The Dispatcher serves as a critical link between customers, crane operators, drivers, and management to ensure safe, efficient, and timely delivery service. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and previous dispatch experience within the transportation, construction, heavy equipment, or crane rental industry.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of dispatch experience required.
  • Strong knowledge of dispatching procedures, scheduling, and route planning.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) and dispatch management software.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Exceptional organizational and customer service abilities.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous dispatch experience in crane rental, construction, transportation, trucking, logistics, or heavy equipment industries preferred.
  • Experience working in the crane rental or heavy equipment industry.
  • Knowledge of DOT regulations and transportation compliance requirements.
  • Familiarity with crane operations, permits, and job site logistics.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Schedule and dispatch crane operators, drivers, and equipment to customer job sites.
  • Coordinate daily crane rental activities and optimize equipment utilization.
  • Communicate with customers regarding scheduling, service requests, job updates, and delivery times.
  • Monitor operator and driver schedules to ensure efficient resource allocation.
  • Maintain accurate dispatch logs, records, and job documentation.
  • Work closely with sales, operations, and field personnel to support project requirements.
  • Respond quickly to schedule changes, emergencies, and customer needs.
  • Ensure compliance with company safety policies, DOT regulations, and industry standards.
  • Track equipment locations and availability.
  • Review work orders, permits, and job requirements prior to dispatch.
  • Manage after-hours communication and support as needed.
  • Assist with billing documentation, job tickets, and operational reporting.
