About The Position

Nevoya is seeking a Dispatcher who is highly motivated and customer-focused to manage live freight operations in real time. This role involves juggling multiple tasks, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring customer satisfaction. The Dispatcher will act as a bridge between junior and senior dispatchers, making independent decisions while knowing when to escalate. This position is ideal for someone energized by fast-paced operations and committed to improving the network. Shift options include Sunday - Thursday: 8am-5pm or Monday - Friday (Night Shift): 8pm-4am.

Requirements

Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously (e.g., handle driver conversations, update TMS, reroute trucks)
Strong problem-solving skills; ability to resolve issues independently before escalating
Customer-centric approach with a focus on understanding and meeting shipper needs
3+ years of experience in freight, last-mile, or high-velocity operations, preferably at a tech-forward carrier, modern delivery network, linehaul/mid-mile operator, or digital freight platform
Experience with proprietary dispatch platforms, live tracking systems, and operations tooling
Adaptability to changing policies, tools, and customer priorities
Clear communication skills in English, both verbal (phone) and written (brokers, shippers, internal team)

Nice To Haves

Experience at a tech-driven last-mile or mid-mile logistics operation where data accuracy and customer metrics were non-negotiable
EV fleet or sustainable transportation dispatch experience
Familiarity with modern dispatch/tracking platforms
Experience coordinating operations across multiple time zones or distributed hubs
College degree

Responsibilities

Assign and coordinate loads across our California fleet, ensuring on-time pickup and delivery
Communicate with drivers in real time to manage schedules, update routes, and troubleshoot issues
Liaise with brokers, shippers, and vendors to keep shipments flowing and expectations aligned
Keep dispatch systems updated accurately and in real time
Monitor Hours of Service compliance for every driver on your board
Plan EV charging proactively to prevent delays
Reprioritize in real time as emergent events occur (port delays, chassis issues, weather, driver callouts)
Support junior dispatchers, delegate tasks, and share operational knowledge
Partner with Senior Dispatchers on escalations and operational improvements
Track and report on KPIs: on-time rates, empty miles %, HOS compliance, TMS accuracy, and charge management
