About The Position

This role involves coordinating a variety of transportation services, including dispatching transporters within the hospital and/or to participant residences. The dispatcher will respond to requests, assign staff, drivers, and participant attendants based on priority, and monitor transport activities to ensure timely completion. They will also assist in optimizing transportation services, inform supervisors of activity levels, and maintain departmental policies regarding safety and infection control.

Requirements

BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
Note: Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.

Responsibilities

Coordinate a variety of transportation services, to include dispatching transporters within the hospital and/or to participant residence.
Respond to requests and assign staff, drivers and participant attendants to perform services on established priority basis.
Prioritize requests and change priority of requests to ensure timely response.
Monitor activities during transport to ensure transporters move from dispatches to completion in a timely manner.
Assist in the coordination of the optimization of transportation services.
Inform supervisor of activity level when additional support is needed and assists with resolution of those issues.
Maintain established departmental policies, procedures, objectives regarding safety and infection control.
