Purpose of Position: Supervise and dispatch liquid feed delivery drivers. Provide direction and supervision of all operations for Kingsburg Commodities in the absence of other facility management.

Requirements

  • Must have a working knowledge and understanding of the California Vehicle Code as it pertains to professional drivers. This is important in performing driver evaluations and vehicle safety inspections.
  • Must have strong interpersonal and communication skills to include proper phone etiquette.
  • Able to work nights, weekends, and holidays as scheduled and needed.
  • Must be able to work well under deadlines and in a changing environment.
  • Must be able to prioritize on an ongoing daily basis.
  • Must be a self-starter and able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to work varying shifts and be able to take after hour calls and respond to emergency situations as needed.
  • Must be able to follow all company and department policies and procedures.

Nice To Haves

  • BS or BA Degree in Business Management or related field preferred or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word programs helpful.

Responsibilities

  • Schedule daily deliveries to prevent feed outages.
  • Keep production running efficiently when scheduling deliveries of each feed type while achieving the highest performance possible.
  • Schedule rolling stock for routine preventative maintenance and make decisions on a daily basis for repairs needed that are unscheduled.
  • Make decisions regarding Kingsburg Commodities operations including production of liquid feed during times when the dispatch supervisor is the only supervision present at the facility. This would include nights and weekends.
  • Provide daily reports of delivery status and daily shift reports of individual driver’s performance for review.
  • Conduct monthly safety meetings and ensure corporate safety guidelines are followed.
  • Assign delivery vehicles and work assignments to drivers.
  • Review drivers’ performance, other employee relations duties to include hiring, training, recognition, discipline, and terminations.
  • Communicate with sourcing and other feed mill departments to determine liquid inventories, feed delivery schedules, and daily field status.
  • Ensure that all company policies and procedures such as biosecurity, safety, etc. are adhered to. This includes reviewing company policies and holding safety meetings with the drivers.
  • Coordinate repairs and schedule preventative maintenance of equipment with the truck shop.
  • Work closely with supervisor regarding our rolling stock maintenance.
  • Verify all paperwork and ELD logs required by drivers/vehicles logs, and all other documentation is completed accurately and timely.
  • Oversee plant activities in the absence of management personnel. This includes making decisions about the priority of loads based on the needs of our feed mills and dairy customers.
