About The Position

The Dispatch Supervisor is responsible for supervising all drivers and ensuring the efficient and timely operation of dispatch processes. This role involves overseeing the fleet's care and services, dispatching drivers for LTL, Bulk, and Transfers, and handling all orders assigned to ship on company trucks. The supervisor will manage the day-to-day operations of drivers out of various facilities and bulk terminals, coordinate shipping appointments and pickups, and manage driver paperwork, including receipts, reimbursements, and DOT logs. Additionally, the position involves working with customer service and materials management to communicate needs, issues, and concerns related to customer orders and product management, respectively. The role also includes processing payroll using Dayforce, utilizing the inventory/routing system, and assisting with dispatch office operations, including working the dispatch window and truck scale. The Dispatch Supervisor will serve as the point of contact for the emergency line after 5 pm, process paperwork, drive the utilization of POD and OAV, and assist with the implementation of Project 44. Fleet documentation, including PMs and annual inspections, will be managed, and efforts will be made to reduce common carrier spend through improved asset utilization and efficient order management and routing. Other duties as assigned will also be part of this role.

Requirements

  • 3 Years of Experience in distribution with a working knowledge of dispatching a fleet of drivers (required)
  • 3 Years of supervisory/management experience (required)
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and bias for action

Nice To Haves

  • 1 – 5 years Chemical industry experience (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Supervising all Drivers
  • Overseeing fleet’s care/services
  • Dispatching of Brenntag drivers, supporting all areas of business including LTL, Bulk, and Transfers

  • Processing driver paperwork

  • Working with customer service for daily communication of needs, issues, concerns related to customer order
  • Working with materials management for coordination of inbound shipments and daily communication of needs, issues, concerns related to product management
  • Processing payroll (In-depth knowledge of Dayforce)
  • Utilizing inventory/routing system
  • Assisting with dispatch office operations
  • Working the dispatch window to direct drivers
  • Working the truck scale
