Dispatch Communications Specialist - ProMedica Transportation Network
About The Position
This position is responsible for receiving, triaging, and scheduling all ground and air to ground patient transports. The specialist will organize facility schedules for Zoll/Logis entry and Dispatch processing, coordinate daily schedule adjustments, and communicate with Care Navigation, Access, Field Supervision, and Facilities. The role ensures efficient processing of all ProMedica Enterprise transport requests and processes all transportation requests following Priority responses within established metrics. The specialist will accurately input all transport data and communications within the CAD system, dispatch and track Ambulances and Ambulette’s, and escalate any scheduling conflicts or transport delays to the Systems Supervisor.
Requirements
- Must have a High School diploma or equivalent.
- Must be able to organize effectively, pay close mindfulness and perform functions with minimal supervision.
- Must have excellent people skills.
- Must be able to understand directions, communicate, and respond to inquiries; requires effective people skills.
- Must be able to input and retrieve information from computer.
- Must be proficient in the use of a computer.
Nice To Haves
- 1-2 years in Medical Dispatch or Care Navigation.
- EMT Basic (EMT-B) in the state of Ohio.
- Knowledge of IP radio, phone, dispatch, and recording systems.
- Knowledge of security systems.
- EMS CAD, Epic and Image Trend operational procedures.
Responsibilities
- Receive, triage, and schedule all ground and air to ground patient transports.
- Organizes facility schedules for Zoll/Logis entry and Dispatch processing.
- Coordinates daily schedule adjustments and communicates with Care Navigation, Access, Field Supervision and Facilities.
- Ensured daily efficient processing of all ProMedica Enterprise transport requests, in conjunction with Care Navigation, Access, Field Supervision, and Facilities.
- Processes all transportation requests following Priority responses within established metrics.
- Effectively and accurately inputs all transport data and related communications within the CAD system.
- Effectively dispatches and tracks Ambulances and Ambulette’s to proper originating and receiving facilities utilizing established procedures and protocols.
- Escalates any scheduling conflicts or transport delays to the Systems Supervisor.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
