About The Position

Disney Entertainment Television develops and produces compelling programming and some of the most successful talked-about series on television today! The DET Publicity department is responsible for handling all communication efforts for ABC Entertainment, Hulu Originals, Disney Kids & Family, Freeform, Onyx Collective, FX and 20th Television. As the DET Publicity intern, you would rotate throughout several of the brands to assist teams as needed. This internship is a full-time commitment in the Burbank, California area from end of September/early October 2026 through January 2027.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in publicity, communications, public relations or a related field through academic coursework, student organizations or an internship
  • Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills, with exceptional attention to detail
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to conduct research, identify relevant media opportunities and synthesize sensitive information effectively
  • Strong interest in television, entertainment, media and the evolving communications landscape
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace; familiarity with Microsoft Teams and other collaboration tools
  • Be enrolled in an accredited college/university pursuing a degree taking at least one class at time of application OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship.
  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Possess unrestricted work authorization
  • Able to have a consistent, reliable work schedule throughout the internship
  • Fully available from end of September/early October 2026 through January 2027
  • Fully available from Monday through Friday and occasionally nights and weekends for the duration of the internship; 40 hours each week
  • Able to provide own housing for the duration of the internship program in the Burbank, California area
  • Able to provide/have reliable transportation to/from work in the Burbank, California area

Responsibilities

  • Compile daily press clips, reviews and raves
  • Monitor and research media coverage and entertainment news
  • Book talent travel and build detailed schedules and itineraries
  • Maintain and update press and media lists
  • Assist with the development of publicity materials, including press releases, loglines, press blasts, photo memos, talking points and other communications materials
  • Support media pitching and outreach
  • Conduct research to identify relevant press opportunities and story angles
  • Assist with talent and media coordination
  • Provide on-site support at press days, screenings, junkets, premieres and other media events
  • Participate in publicity brainstorms
  • Contribute ideas and research to campaign development
  • Support publicists in executing show-specific publicity strategies and initiatives
