About The Position

The Dismantler | Parts Puller is responsible for properly removing high-valued auto parts and usable core parts in a safe, efficient, and proper manner. This role involves dismantling and removing parts like hybrid batteries, catalytic converters, and airbags from vehicles, staging high-value cores/parts for pickups, and responding to customer orders by pulling product. The position may also require operating a forklift, loading trucks, maintaining work area cleanliness, and meeting productivity guidelines. Additionally, the role may involve using handheld devices for data entry and reporting, and adhering to company policies and procedures. The employee will assume other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Must have hands-on automotive repair experience.
• Must complete required training.
• Necessary tools will be provided as needed.
• Basic math and computer skills.
• Basic messages communicated orally.
• May write brief messages and keep simple records.
• Problems encountered are routine, somewhat repetitive and generally solved by following clear directions and procedures.
• Follows standard procedures with little decision making involved.
• Assignments/priorities provided by supervisor/manager.
• Must be able to use hand and electric tools.
• Frequently required to stand, walk, push, pull, squat, bend, reach, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or sit for extended periods of time.
• Will be exposed to hazardous situations, conditions, and equipment.
• Must be able to work in cramped spaces or underneath vehicles that may require getting into awkward positions.
• Will regularly wear personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Will be exposed to extreme temperatures and high noise levels.
• Frequent exposure to contaminants such as fuel or exhaust.
• Must be able to lift to 75 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Dismantle and remove hybrid batteries, catalytic converters, airbags and other parts efficiently from vehicles in a safety conscious manner.
• Stage high value cores/parts for vendor or customer pickups.
• Respond to customer countersales by receiving order, pulling product and taking to sales counter.
• May be required to operate forklift and load trucks.
• Maintain orderliness and housekeeping of assigned work areas.
• Meet productivity guidelines.
• May be required to use hand held or similar device to enter information and generate reports.
• Comply with established company policies and procedures.
• Assume other duties as assigned.
