About The Position

The incumbent in this position is responsible for washing dishes, pots, etc., and ensuring their cleanliness. This role involves maintaining the cleanliness of the kitchen environment, including floors, drains, and large equipment. The position requires knowledge and safe use of various cleaning chemicals and adherence to safety protocols, including the use of protective gear. The dishwasher is expected to keep their work area tidy and perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Ability to perform duties and operate equipment in a working environment that is subject to varying levels of cold, heat, noise, and vibrations.
• Ability to effectively and efficiently move around the work area.
• Ability to stand for the majority of the shift.
• Ability to inspect all work performed.
• Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, stand, carry, climb, walk long distances, reach, and twist.
• Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds and move loads of up to 100 pounds.
• Ability to review and comprehend all necessary documentation.
• Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of team members.
• Ability to conduct oneself in a manner that reflects a positive professional image.
• Must use protective gloves and eyewear periodically throughout shift.

Responsibilities

• Wash dishes, pots, kettles, ovens, hoods, fryers, flat top broiler, spider top, and other built-in or large equipment.
• Clean floors, floor mats, and drains by sweeping and mopping major traffic areas of the kitchen.
• Polish all stainless steel in the kitchen area.
• Use and understand the knowledge of several chemicals.
• Keep the work area (floor, machine, shelving, carts, etc.) clean.
• Perform other related duties as may be assigned.
• Sort all plateware, silverware, kitchen utensils, pots/pans, and other items as needed.
• Clean kitchen equipment and tools including, but not limited to, slicer, steamer, deep fryer, ovens, broiler, grill, mixer, kettle, flat top, choppers, and knives.
