Dishwasher (Full And Part Time)
About The Position
We are hiring immediately for full and part-time DISHWASHER positions at Radford University. The role involves maintaining dishes, pots, pans, trays, kitchen, work areas, equipment, and utensils in an orderly and sanitary condition. This includes scraping and rinsing food from dirty dishes, washing them by hand or machine, and ensuring complete cleanliness and sanitation. The position also involves polishing silver, maintaining temperatures and chemical levels, keeping the dish area orderly, sweeping and mopping floors, washing work surfaces, removing trash, steaming/hosing out garbage cans, and transferring supplies. You will also help load and unload supplies and product, and perform other assigned duties.
Requirements
- Prior dishroom experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Scrapes and rinses food from dirty dishes and washes them by hand or places them in racks or on a conveyor to the dishwashing machine.
- Ensures complete cleanliness and sanitation of dishes.
- Washes pots, pans, and trays based on assigned procedures, ensuring complete cleanliness and sanitation.
- Polishes silver using the appropriate equipment and procedures, ensuring complete cleanliness and sanitation.
- Ensures compliance with outlined safety procedures.
- Maintains temperatures and chemical levels as outlined by provided standards.
- Keeps the dish area orderly and in compliance with safety standards.
- Sweeps and mops kitchen floors to ensure compliance with safety and sanitation standards.
- Washes worktables, walls, refrigerators, meat blocks, and other food preparation surfaces.
- Removes trash and places it in designated containers.
- Steam cleans or hoses out garbage cans.
- Transfers supplies and equipment between storage and work areas.
- Helps load and unload supplies and product.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
