About The Position
The Dishwasher is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards for china, glassware, tableware, cooking utensils, etc., using machine and manual cleaning methods. Requirements
- Must be able to read labels on chemicals
- Knowledge of workplace safety procedures
- Must be able to adhere to execute all terms and conditions set forth in the United Church Homes Employee Handbook
Nice To Haves
- Six (6) months or more of commercial dishwashing experience desired
Responsibilities
- Sorts and rinses dirty dishes, glass, tableware and other cooking utensils and places them in racks to send through dish machine
- Sorts and stacks clean dishes and carries clean dishes to cook's line and other proper storage areas; rewashes soiled dishes before delivering
- Changes dishwater in dish machine every hour
- Washes pots, pans and trays by hand
- Sets up or breaks down dishwashing area when needed
- Fills/empties soak tubs with cleaning/sanitizing solutions
- Assembles/disassembles dish machine, as necessary
- Wipes up any spills to ensure kitchen floors remain dry and free of hazards
- Notifies manager anytime dish machine wash or rinse cycle falls below safety standard temperatures
- Ensures that hands are always sanitized before handling clean dishes, as well as maintains other sanitary procedures
- Removes food trash and garbage to dumpster, as necessary
- Performs all other duties as assigned or directed
