About The Position

The dishwasher is responsible for cleaning dishes and kitchenware in a food service environment to ensure a steady supply of clean plates, bowls, silverware, pots, pans, and glasses. This role requires flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends, evenings, and holidays, and involves maintaining the cleanliness of work areas and assisting with trash removal. The position also requires adherence to health and safety standards, efficient management of dishwashing cycles, and clear communication with team members in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or G.E.D. required.
  • Must pass background and drug screening per Kaw Nation Gaming Commission regulations to obtain a gaming license.
  • Flexibility to work any shift as needed or assigned—including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
  • Ability to lift and carry 50lbs.
  • Frequent stooping, reaching, bending, and carrying in a hot and wet environment.

Responsibilities

  • Cleaning dishes and kitchenware in a food service environment to ensure a steady supply of clean plates, bowls, silverware, pots, pans, and glasses.
  • Prioritizing loads based on type of items, hand-washing dishes, pots, and pans, loading the dishwasher, and placing items to dry.
  • Unloading cutlery and dishes brought to the kitchen, sorting by category, and loading into trays for the industrial dishwasher.
  • Hand-washing any items too large or delicate for machine washing.
  • Cleaning and sanitizing all dishware and kitchenware according to health and safety standards, ensuring staff have the necessary supplies for food and beverage service.
  • Maintaining cleanliness of work areas, including refrigerators, cooking equipment, walls, floors, and the dish pit.
  • Assisting with removing trash and taking garbage to the dumpster as needed.
  • Monitoring dishwashing loads to ensure timely and efficient washing cycles, adjusting workflow and priorities as needed to meet staff demands.
  • Staying organized, agile, and responsive in a fast-paced environment, effectively managing multiple tasks while communicating clearly with team members to maintain a smooth kitchen operation.
  • Adhering to uniform requirements and maintaining a professional appearance and demeanor while representing KGI.
  • Following all applicable state, federal, and tribal laws, regulations, and compliance requirements.
