Dishwasher (Full Time And Part Time)
About The Position
We are hiring immediately for full time and part time DISHWASHER positions at Lincoln Memorial University. The role involves maintaining dishes, pots, pans, trays, kitchen, work areas, equipment, and utensils in an orderly and sanitary condition. This includes scraping and rinsing food from dirty dishes, washing them by hand or machine, ensuring complete cleanliness and sanitation, and polishing silver. The position also requires maintaining temperatures and chemical levels, keeping the dish area orderly and safe, sweeping and mopping floors, washing food prep surfaces, removing trash, steaming/hosing out garbage cans, and transferring supplies. The job may also involve helping to load and unload supplies and product, and performing other assigned duties. Due to the nature of working in an educational facility, there may be periods of temporary layoff during breaks, though year-round work may be available, potentially at a different location. Requirements
- Prior dishwashing experience is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Scrapes and rinses food from dirty dishes and washes them by hand or places them in racks or on conveyor to dishwashing machine.
- Ensures complete cleanliness and sanitation of dishes, pots, pans, and trays.
- Polishes silver using appropriate equipment and procedures.
- Ensures compliance with outlined safety procedures.
- Maintains temperatures and chemical levels as outlined by provided standards.
- Keeps dish area orderly and in compliance with safety standards.
- Sweeps and mops kitchen floors to ensure compliance with safety and sanitation standards.
- Washes worktables, walls, refrigerators, meat blocks, and other food prep surfaces.
- Removes trash and places it in designated containers.
- Steam cleans or hoses out garbage cans.
- Transfers supplies and equipment between storage and work areas.
- Helps load and unload supplies and product.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
