Requirements

  • Excellent listening skills and communication skills, both verbal and written

Responsibilities

  • Collecting used kitchenware from the workstations and kitchen areas.
  • Loading and unloading dishwashing machines.
  • Hand-washing specific items (for example, wooden cutting boards, large pots, etc.).
  • Storing cleaned kitchenware, baking pans, pots, and equipment appropriately.
  • Setting up workstations before meal prep begins.
  • Ensuring there are always enough clean pots, pans, and cooking/serving utensils, especially during peak hours.
  • Maintaining cleaning supplies in stock (e.g., detergents) and placing orders when necessary.
  • Checking washing machines operation and promptly reporting any technical/performance issues.
  • Removing garbage regularly.
  • Sanitizing the kitchen area, including the floor.
  • Adhering to all appropriate workplace regulations, compliances, and legislation regarding health and safety, food preparation standards, and company policies and procedures.
  • Be continually aware of, and maintain, the highest standards of professionalism.
  • Maintaining a professional appearance, demeanor, and attitude at all times.
  • Protecting the health and safety of others by adopting safe work practices and reporting unsafe conditions immediately.
  • Greeting customers with a smile and answering their questions as required.
  • Maintaining familiarity with the composition of all menu items.
  • Ensuring all kitchen equipment and tools are being used safely and according to provided directions.
  • Ensuring food is handled, stored, and cooked according to health and safety standards and that proper cleanup occurs to meet health regulations.
  • Cleaning agreed-upon designated areas in accordance with laid-down procedures, morning or evening routines, and hygiene requirements.
  • Cleaning and setting tables according to established standards, ensuring that all items used are clean, undamaged, and in a good state of repair.
  • Assisting in other areas as needed during peak times.
  • Helping to raise the standards within the department and bring new concepts forth.
  • Other duties as required.
