About The Position

Hyde Park Hospitality is hiring for Full-Time and Part-Time Dishwashers at The Club lounge in the Charleston International Airport. The work of an Airport Lounge Dishwasher includes performing a full range of back-of-house cleaning duties and responsibilities in support of Company operations. This role involves restocking bar and kitchen supplies, cleaning dishware using a dishwashing machine, cleaning breakrooms/kitchens, disinfecting various surfaces and appliances, assisting with lounge area cleaning and table bussing, emptying wastebaskets and recyclables, and helping with deliveries by loading and unloading products following the FIFO method. The position relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform job functions. Successful candidates will pass and obtain food handler certification and maintain current city and state approved badges and permits, as applicable, while adhering to all local and state health department and other state agency regulations. Additional duties include assisting with the removal of trash throughout the lounge to designated disposal areas.

Requirements

• Ability to successfully pass airport authority security background check.
• High school diploma or GED is preferred.
• Must be at least 18 or 21 years of age as applicable by law.
• Must be able to handle multiple tasks and possess verbal communication skills necessary to communicate with customers, passengers, and co-workers.
• Able to work rotating shifts including weekends (i.e. Friday, Saturday and Sunday), holidays and days off.
• Ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language.
• Ability to cooperate with peers, customers, and supervisors of diverse nature who may hold divergent views.
• Pass and maintain all necessary licenses and certifications as applicable by law.
• Must be able to stand during entire scheduled shift.
• Ability to handle the stress of a fast-paced work shift up to ten (10) hours.
• Ability to read and interpret basic documents and comply with all company policies and procedures.
• Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and group settings to passengers, customers, and other team members of the Company.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide using whole numbers.
• Ability to interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
• Ability to bend, climb up/down, crouch, hear, kneel, reach, speak, stand, turn, twist, walk.
• Must be able to lift 40 pounds, 40 inches high without the aid of another person.
• Must be able to push and/or pull 120 pounds with the assistance of a wheeled cart.
• Ability to perform tasks safely and according to established procedures to prevent personal injury, injury to others and avoid damage to the environment, facilities, and equipment.
• Ability to follow all lawful safety and health regulations.
• Personal appearance and grooming will present a favorable corporate and customer image.
• Must be able to pass and obtain security background check and clearance to work in airport environment.
• Report to work on a regular and timely basis.

Responsibilities

• Perform full range of back-of-house cleaning duties and responsibilities.
• Restock bar and kitchen supplies including chaffing dishes, crock pots, trays, coffee, cups, glasses, etc. in all service areas and other work areas so that health standards are met.
• Clean dishware and operate dishwashing machine.
• Clean breakrooms/kitchens.
• Disinfect sinks, countertops, tables, chairs, refrigerators, etc.
• Assist with cleaning of all lounge areas.
• Assist with bussing and cleaning of tables when needed.
• Empty wastebaskets and recyclables and transport to disposal area.
• Help with deliveries by loading and unloading products following the FIFO method.
• Pass and obtain food handler certification and maintain current city and state approved badges and permits, as applicable.
• Adhere to all local and state health department and other state agency regulations.
• Assist with the removal of trash throughout lounge, taking to designated disposal areas.
• Other duties as assigned.
