About The Position

A non-exempt position, reporting to the Chef or their designee, is responsible for customer service, dishwashing, along with maintaining a clean and orderly dining area. This role also involves assisting and training consumers with intellectual, medical, and/or physical disabilities with understanding and confidentiality. The position requires promoting a cooperative working atmosphere by maintaining a safe, hazard-free work environment, adhering to Cal OSHA and ADA requirements, and following all safety regulations. It also involves maintaining a pleasant work environment by adhering to standards for preventing undesirable conduct and representing the organization professionally.

Requirements

  • Food Handlers Card and Health Card (upon hired)
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Prior restaurant experience
  • Ability to read, write and speak fluently in English
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide within all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent.
  • Ability to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Responsibilities

  • Efficiently rinses, washes and dries all reusable dinnerware, silverware, kitchen utensils, pots and pans and other equipment according to kitchen processes.
  • Effectively communicates with bar, kitchen and janitorial staff while maintaining business relationships.
  • At the direction of the Chef, maintains, cleans, organizes and stocks kitchen areas.
  • Assures that bowling areas are clean, all trash is consistently removed, floors and lanes are free from debris and/or spilled drinks; effectively communicates with busboys/janitorial teams directing them to specific lanes are areas of the bowling alley.
  • Responsibility to maintain personal hygiene by washing hands thoroughly, using the appropriate cleaning materials and resolving hazardous spills are wastes in a timely manner.
  • Consistently assist, work with and train consumers with intellectual, medical and/or physical disabilities with understanding and with the utmost confidentiality.
  • Promotes a better, more cooperative working atmosphere by maintaining a safe, hazard free work environment by adhering to Cal OSHA and ADA requirements; following all regulations for safety as required by the Injury and Illness Prevention Program (IIPP).
  • Maintains a harmonious, pleasant and positive work environment as possible by following established standards for preventing undesirable conduct, including but not limited to discrimination, sexual harassment and alcohol/substance abuse.
  • Represents the organization in a positive and professional manner.
  • Follow personnel policies closely.
  • Foster cooperative staff relationships and effective teamwork.
  • Individuals may perform other duties as assigned, including work in other functional areas to cover absences or relief to equalize peak work periods or otherwise to balance the workload as assigned by the Director of ARC Industries or the C.E.O.
