Dishwasher (Full Time And Part Time)
About The Position
We are hiring immediately for full-time and part-time DISHWASHER positions at Saint Edward's University. This role is responsible for maintaining dishes, pots, pans, trays, kitchen, work areas, equipment, and utensils in an orderly and sanitary condition. The job involves scraping and rinsing food from dirty dishes, washing them by hand or machine, and ensuring complete cleanliness and sanitation. Additional duties include washing pots, pans, and trays, polishing silver, ensuring compliance with safety procedures, maintaining temperatures and chemical levels, keeping the dish area orderly, sweeping and mopping floors, washing food prep surfaces, removing trash, steam cleaning garbage cans, transferring supplies, and helping load/unload supplies. The position is located at 3001 South Congress Avenue, Austin, TX 78704. Applications are accepted online only and on an ongoing basis until all openings are filled.

- Prior utility and dishwashing experience is preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities
- Scrapes and rinses food from dirty dishes and washes them by hand or places them in racks or on a conveyor to the dishwashing machine.
- Ensures complete cleanliness and sanitation of dishes, pots, pans, and trays.
- Washes pots, pans, and trays based on assigned procedures.
- Polishes silver using the appropriate equipment and procedures.
- Ensures compliance with outlined safety procedures.
- Maintains temperatures and chemical levels as outlined by provided standards.
- Keeps the dish area orderly and in compliance with safety standards.
- Sweeps and mops kitchen floors to ensure compliance with safety and sanitation standards.
- Washes worktables, walls, refrigerators, meat blocks, and other food prep surfaces.
- Removes trash and places it in designated containers.
- Steam cleans or hoses out garbage cans.
- Transfers supplies and equipment between storage and work areas.
- Helps load and unload supplies and product.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
